Who will the course benefit?

Our GMP course is aimed at new starters to the pharmaceutical industry and people recently promoted into a more senior role.  Ideal training for anyone new working in Quality Assurance or Quality Control and new Production Team Leaders.  At the end of the course a delegate will have a greater appreciation of the high level requirements of GMP and how to implement them in the workplace. 

GMP Course overview

Delegates will learn about GMP and how it is applied in a manufacturing operation.  Delegates will leave the GMP course with a clear understanding of the requirements of EU GMP and an appreciation of USA GMP.

Session 1 Tuesday 2pm – 3.30pm
  • What is GMP?
  • The history of GMP, including pharmaceutical disasters
  • Why do we have GMP in pharmaceuticals?
  • Protecting the patient or end user of the medicine
  • Licences for medicines and sites for manufacturing
  • How a new medicine gets to the market
  • The role of GMP in the Product Lifecycle
  • .  The problem of relying only on QC sampling and testing.
  • Initial process validation and the need for change control.
  • The Qualified Person and batch release.
  • The link between GMP and other guidelines, such as GLP, GCP, GPvP and GDP (GXP).

 

Session 2 Wedesday 2pm – 3.30pm
  • GMP in the European Union. 

  • The Chapters and Annexes of EU GMP. 

  • The UK’s MHRA. 

  • The UK’s Orange Guide. 

  • The ramifications of Brexit in the UK. 

  • GMP in the USA. 

  • The FDA. 

  • The Code of Federal Regulations and CGMP. 

  • Enforcement of GMP – inspections and the consequence of poor inspections.

  •   An overview of the main requirements of GMP. 

  • The importance of the QA system.

 

Session 3 Thursday 2pm – 3.30pm
  • The golden rules of GMP. 

  • Documents, records and Data Integrity. 

  • Dealing with deviations. 

  • The need for Root-Cause Analysis (RCA). 

  • Typical RCA tools that can be used. 

  • Correction,  Corrective Action, Preventive Action. 

  • Change control – assessing the impact. 

  • Performing Risk Assessments.  Improvements. 

  • Conclusion of the course and feedback.

With 2 expert facilitators and a maximum of 10 delegates our course will utilise state-of-the art courseware that will enable you to:

  • chat online with the facilitators and other delegates
  • raise your 'virtual' hand to ask a question
  • participate anonymously in a poll or survey and see an instant display of the class results
  • undertake exercises on your own or in a group

The classes start at 2pm promptly and just like in a real classroom you should schedule to arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure  the technology is working as it should be, on your device (which could be a desktop/laptop pc, an iPad or an iPhone). Each session lasts just 90 minutes.

 Course cost:

£395  per delegate plus VAT. Course will be charged in GB pounds.

VAT will be charged for these courses, however delegates from outside the UK but within the European Union (EU) will not be charged VAT if they supply their own company’s national VAT number when booking. VAT will not be charged for any delegates coming from outside the EU.

The cost includes:

  • Course folder delivered to your home, workplace or the ‘Cloud’ (your choice) containing copies of slides and supplementary notes and handouts.
